Idempotent by design — one email, no double-sends

Each abandoned cart gets one recovery email — never two. If the buyer completes the purchase between abandonment and the delay window, the email never sends. Status moves to completed or recovered automatically — so your buyers don't get awkward "did you mean to leave this?" emails after they paid.
